Jennifer Tilly was conceived in Los Angeles on 16 September 1958, in extremely poor conditions. Her mother was an unsuccessful teacher and actor, was a salesperson for cars while her dad was an automobile salesman. Jennifer was the second child in the family of four frequently attended the theater performances of her mother and was extremely impressed. Jennifer's father and mother split at the age five. Jennifer was a part of her youth in British Columbia, after her mother moved there with her four children. Jennifer did not attend school however, as a child she was a talented artist. Her time at Canadian schools led to her being the frequent target of bullies. Her interest began to wane in theater throughout her high school years. Her mother urged her to participate in additional roles in different productions. Her children all were encouraged by their mom to follow their passion of art. Then, she began to take action.
